Synopsis
The last 16-bit Tecmo football game features all-new graphics, speech, music, cinema screens and passing modes. All 30 NFL teams and players have been included with ratings based on the 1994 season. A new Superstar Mode gives you the chance to create up to 19 players and adjust their abilities. Don't like a team's starting quarterback? Put yourself in the game! Free Agents are also available for you to sign, but you'll have to first cut some of your players in order to acquire them. Features making a return appearance are audibles, fake punts and field goals, two-point conversions, multiple defensive formations, trades, variable weather, Pro Bowl, and complete team and player statistics saved to battery. The game is still played from a horizontal perspective and emphasizes fast-paced arcade action. Bring home the Lombardi Trophy once and for all!

Tecmo Bowl debuted on the NES in 1989 and became a smash success based on the ease of play along with having real teams and players. It delivered a quick arcade thrill and hopelessly addictive gameplay. The game also featured upbeat music and catchy sound effects that fit the arcade theme perfectly. Tecmo Super Bowl, the NES sequel, was released in 1991 and added a boatload of features: full stat tracking, a customizable playbook, battery backup, and substitutions, making it the deepest football game on the system at the time of its release. The series first made the leap to 16-bit systems in 1993 and inspired two sequels. Tecmo Super Bowl debuted on the PlayStation in 1996.
