Synopsis
This text refers to the Nintendo Entertainment System version of this title.Based on the 1989 movie, Best of the Best: Championship Karate lets you create your own fighter or use one of the game's existing characters to compete in a grueling elimination tournament. Unfortunately, the action moves at a snail's pace, and controlling your character is a chore, causing him to get knocked down too often. While the fighters' animation is smooth, the color choices, such as a green ring and blue lighting, are odd and seem out of place. The lack of music or crowd noise during matches makes for a not very exciting atmosphere.
