Webster's Gold Encyclopedia 2001: Express Edition updates TOPICS Entertainment's previous release, bringing the series current through the first year of the 21st century. The Express Edition contains three separate programs: Events That Changed the World, Webster's World Encyclopedia 2001, and The Hutchinson's Multimedia Encyclopedia 2000.

The collection not only includes encyclopedic type entries, but "dictionaries, an atlas, Internet hyperlinks, quiz sections and slide shows" as well. The information contained in the suite of CDs contains more than 11 million words, 12,000 pictures and maps, sixty greatest events in history, more than 50,000 articles, 40,000 hyperlinks, and a collection of animations. Data is applicable to student research, casual use, and as reference material.
